In my job at TomTom I managed the development team responsible for the development of the Linux kernel as used on those devices. This has brought me a wealth of knowledge on the innner workings of the Linux kernel, and gave me a clearer picture of how its architecture stands compared to other OSes.
Ofcourse, most of my work with Linux these days is centered around embedded systems, which is a subset of the entire Linux market, but it is an interesting (and demanding) one. It will be interesting to see how Linux develops, and adjusts to fit this market better.
